About
Pierpaolo Pallotti lives and works in Porto San Giorgio, Marches, a region with a great musical tradition which lived its best season in the 18th and 19th century, thanks to the contribution of great musicians and gifted builders of musical instruments. Influenced by the surrounding past and moved by a particular sensitivity towards “beauty”, the fundamental value of artistic expression, initially he starts satisfying his musical curiosity as a performer; he begins studying piano and organ privately and he continues attending the same courses to the “Conservatory of music G. B. Pergolesi” in Fermo. Afterwards, needing a closer contact with the auditory matter, he starts his personal research as builder. This activity has begun in his youth through the first experimentations and is based on his deep passion for pipe organ and all its musical and mechanical aspects. In his professional and artistic training, it was fundamental the meeting with his mentor, the organ builder Andrea Zeni from Tesero, Trentino. Noticing many elements of consonance, after some years he becomes interested in the world of keyboard industry where he mostly focused on the study and building practice of plucked stringed instruments; meanwhile he completes his academic path in “Sciences of the cultural and musical Heritage” at the University of Perugia. In 2009, firmly convinced to follow his own intentions independently, scrupulously and passionately, he opens his artisan workshop where he builds and restores pipe organs, harpsichords.
